EDDY CURRENT TESTING (ET) LEVEL II
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Eddy current testing level II course provides the knowledge required to understand the method, operate the equipment and perform testing.
Detailed class-work and proven "hands-on" exercises gives the student a thorough understanding of the theories and concepts.
BRIEF TOPICS (some topics may not be applicable or limited for Level 1 personnel)
- ET theory and its applications
- Advantages and limitations of ET
- Codes / standards requirements as per ASTM, ASME etc.
- Familiarization of equipment and probes
- Calibration of the equipment and probe using various reference blocks
- Testing on different type of products
- Interpreting and evaluating the test data
- Preparation of the reports
COURSE DURATION
- 80 hours of training including examination (Theory, Specific and Practical)
- 40% class-room training with power point presentation, lecture and Q&A
- 60% hands-on practical on A-Star engineered weld flaw samples
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Engineers, inspectors and technicians aspiring to acquire the proficiency and knowledge in eddy current testing. This course provides access to employer based qualification and certification.
CERTIFICATION
NDT ET level II certificate will be provided leading to a higher level of competence on successful completion of General, Specific and Practical examinations with an aggregate of 80%.
