MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING (MT)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Magnetic particle testing level II course provides the knowledge required to understand the method, operate the equipment
and perform testing. Our course structure is compiled based on the guidelines Written Practice SNT-TC-1A.
Detailed class-work and proven "hands-on" exercises gives the student a thorough understanding of the theories and concepts.
BRIEF TOPICS (some topics may not be applicable or limited for Level 1 personnel)
- MT theory and its applications
- Advantages and limitations of MT
- Codes / standards requirements as per BSEN, ASTM / ASME & AWS etc.
- Familiarization of the equipment
- Operating the equipment and current requirements
- Longitudinal and circular magnetization
- Perform testing on products
- Interpreting and evaluating the test data
- Preparation of the reports
COURSE DURATION
- 40 hours of training including examination (Theory, Specific and Practical).
- 40% class-room training with power point presentation, lecture and Q&A.
- 60% hands-on practical on PSI engineered weld flaw samples.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Engineers, inspectors and technicians aspiring to acquire the proficiency and knowledge in magnetic particle testing.
This course provides access to employer based qualification and certification.
CERTIFICATION
NDT MT level II certificate will be provided leading to a higher level of competence on successful completion of General,
Specific and Practical examinations with an aggregate of 80%.
COURSE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS
We provide training materials, MT equipment and sample specimens.
